Pilaf with chickpeas recipe
| 
A traditional dish of Lebanon, very nutritious for the whole family. Pilaf with chickpeas Ingredients 250 gr. chickpeas
125 gr. for rice pilaf
1 tablespoonful olive oil
1 onion chopped
1 clove finely chopped
1 stalk celery cut
1 green pepper chopped
½ teaspoon oregano
2 tomatoes grated
1 tablespoonful parsley
Directions Strain the soaked from the previous night chickpeas and boil in a saucepan with 1 ½ liter of water for 1 hour until soft. In a skillet warm oil and sotaroume the onion, garlic and celery. Mix and then add the green pepper, tomato sauce and herbs. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile in a saucepan prepare according to instructions rice. Once you are ready to knuckle down on a platter and leave aside. Add the sauce mix our chickpeas, add two cups of hot water, cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Knuckle chylomena us the chick peas over rice and serve.
